Guardian Family Program
Occasionally we find a puppy with the right personality and genetics that we want to retain them for our breeding program. We've found the most ideal situation is to place them with a guardian home that will give them a home and love and care for them. They would return to our home for breeding on occasion and upon completion of their time in our breeding program they become fully owned by the guardian family.
Ownership
While the dog is part of the breeding program, although they would live at the guardian family's home, they are owned by Salty Point Farms LLC. Upon completion of their time in the breeding program we have them spayed or neutered and full ownership is transferred to the guardian family.
Responsibilities of Guardian Family
- Provide a safe environment for the dog
- Maintain proper nutrition, exercise, and health of the animal
- For females, monitor for heat cycle and inform us when she is in heat
Responsibilities of Breeder
- We pay for all expenses related to breeding
- We compensate you for time away from the animal while breeding
- We cover cost to spay/neuter the animal at completion of time in the breeding program.
